Local Data Wire Co. ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We've written it in plain language because you shouldn't need a lawyer to understand a privacy policy.

What We Collect

Information you give us directly:

• Name and email address when you subscribe, request a sample report, or contact us
• Payment information when you purchase a subscription (processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number)
• Messages you send us via email or contact forms

Information collected automatically:

• Basic analytics data: pages visited, time on site, referring source (via Google Analytics)
• Device type and browser for compatibility purposes
• Email open and click tracking to understand which reports are useful to you

How We Use It

• Deliver the intelligence reports and data files you subscribe to
• Send you product updates, new market announcements, and service communications
• Process your payments securely
• Improve our reports based on what subscribers actually use
• Respond to your questions and support requests

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Our Data Sources

We cross-reference permit records with property appraiser parcel data (also public) to add property owner names, mailing addresses, and assessed values. We do not use private databases, skip tracing services, or purchased contact lists.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of services to operate:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all credit card data under their own privacy policy.
• Google Analytics — website analytics. We use this to understand traffic patterns, not to track individuals.
• Resend — email delivery. Used to send reports and communications to subscribers.

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum information necessary for them to function (e.g., your email goes to Resend so they can deliver your report).

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe from emails: Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you're off the list.
• Cancel your subscription: Email us at jackson@localdatawire.com to cancel. Access continues through the end of your billing period.
• Request your data: Want to know what we have on file for you? Email us and we'll send it within 30 days.
• Delete your data: Want us to delete your account and associated data? Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Email Communications (CAN-SPAM)

We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every commercial email we send:

• Identifies Local Data Wire Co. as the sender
• Includes our physical mailing address
• Contains a working unsubscribe link
• Uses accurate subject lines that reflect the content

We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

Cookies

We use standard analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how people use our site. We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels. If you prefer not to be tracked, your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or an ad blocker will handle it.

Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all connections. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. We don't store passwords in plaintext. We don't store credit card numbers at all. We follow standard security practices for a company our size.

Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes, we'll update this page and note the new effective date. For material changes that affect how we use your personal information, we'll notify active subscribers by email.
